Psychotherapy Service
BICC emotional support - therapeutic journey and psychotherapy service was set up in 2022 as an integral part of BICC mission. We offer cultural, gender sensitive and faith sensitive service that promotes emotional wellbeing in a safe environment to help people to overcome the impact of trauma and abuse.
Our service promises to help you to move forward, to be empowered and find pathways to happiness and wellbeing.
We have specifically tailored our therapeutic approach combining therapies with psychodynamic principles, which focuses on empowering and strengthening patients to reach their own potential as unique and valuable individuals. We use therapeutic tools to encourage social and gender role analysis in order to challenge norms and stereotypes and support self-development. We maintain the egalitarian principle in therapy as a tool to challenge disbalance of power that helps us to build a safe working environment to promote self-awareness.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the BiCC Director - Veronica Simpson.
Basic principles of BICC Psychotherapy & Emotional Support Services
Clients access counselling and psychotherapy services on a voluntary basis and are required to commit to a counselling contract with BICC Psychotherapy coordinator. Before counselling starts, the Psychotherapy Service Coordinator clarifies with the client the basis on which counselling is to be given, including method, duration, cost and confidentiality. Changes can subsequently be made only with the agreement of the Psychotherapist Service Coordinator and the client.
